Rare Antique Solid 18k Gold Musical Fob / Seal Swiss 1820 with original box. These miniature curiosities were meant to be worn and shown off to one's friends as the technical marvels of their days. Just as owning a watch was a sign of wealth and distinction, so would have been this exceptional creation.

Commonly referred to as musical pocket watch seals, even if the piece lacks a seal, these wonderful treasures are classified as musical art objects and represent some of the earliest music boxes ever made. The petit barillet movement with comb stack with blued teeth, internal spring barrel with inset Geneva stopwork, with start/stop control at the side and is in fine working order. This shape is made of 18-20 carat gold, unique handmade goldsmith's work. The fob was made with hoop-top winding stem, open rod globe centre, 4 snake-like legs with oval base and with knurled ring sides. Perfect original condition, no dents, repair or soldering!
