Rare French 1930's Filigree Ormolu Wind up Music Powder / Dresser / Jewelry Box

  

This beautiful musical vanity box is a rare find, most likely from the early 20th century. The round box itself appears to be wood which has a peachy finish and sits in a footed filigree stand.

There are some scuffs noted along the top edge of the stand as well as some missing filigree edging as shown in the photos. The piece measures approximately 4.5 inches in height and 3.5 inches in width and has a wonderful ornamental piece highlighting its lid. The music box is triggered by lifting the lid which allows the wire prong underneath to rise.

You will find that the music still plays once wound. The sticker found on the bottom, while difficult to read, seems to indicate this is a French piece. Truly a lovely vintage item.
